The Opportunity

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we’re looking to add an experienced Glazing Maintenance Surveyor to our team.

This role combines technical surveying, client liaison, and project coordination, offering the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial glazing projects across the UK.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring that each project runs smoothly from initial survey through to completion — representing the Dortech name with professionalism, precision, and pride.


Key Responsibilities

  • Survey glazing maintenance and refurbishment projects nationwide.

  • Produce detailed technical reports, drawings, and cost information for estimating.

  • Liaise directly with clients to discuss requirements, findings, and recommendations.

  • Manage projects from start to finish, ensuring quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

  • Prepare and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

  • Check material specifications and deliveries to ensure project accuracy.


About You

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in surveying, ideally within glazing, construction, or façade systems.

  • Excellent attention to detail and “right first time” approach.

  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.

  • Proactive, well-organised, and capable of managing multiple projects.

  • Full UK driving licence (company vehicle provided).

Site Manager – Commercial Glazing

About Us

Established in 1993, Dortech Architectural Systems Ltd is one of the UK’s most respected names in architectural glazing. Based in Huddersfield, we design, manufacture, and install high-performance aluminium curtain walling, windows, and doors for commercial and public sector projects across the UK.

We are an equal opportunities employer and are now looking to strengthen our contracts team with an experienced Site Manager who will play a key role in the delivery of glazing projects valued up to £3 million. Most of our work is located within close proximity to the M62 corridor, ensuring manageable travel and consistent site engagement.


The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to oversee the on-site execution of our glazing projects — ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to Dortech’s high-quality standards.

You will work closely with our Contracts Department, coordinating operatives, subcontractors, and main contractors, while upholding safety, quality, and client satisfaction at every stage.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all on-site activities for glazing projects up to £3m in value.

  • Oversee Health & Safety compliance, producing site reports, audits, and updated RAMS.

  • Deliver projects on programme and within budget.

  • Attend and contribute to contract and site coordination meetings.

  • Produce weekly progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation.

  • Supervise subcontractors and liaise with main contractors regarding day works, variations, instructions, and delays.

  • Maintain Dortech’s quality, professionalism, and client communication standards.


What We’re Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing glazing or façade projects.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver complex glazing packages.

  • SMSTS, CSCS, and IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent) certifications.

  • Strong IT skills for digital reporting and communication.

  • Full, clean UK driving licence.

Personal Qualities

  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills.

  • Strong leadership and team coordination experience.

  • Methodical, organised, and proactive under pressure.

  • Confident problem solver with a “right first time” attitude.

The Role

You’ll install aluminium (and associated) windows and doors to a high standard, support surveys where required, and help diagnose issues—presenting cost-effective, practical solutions to customers. You’ll represent Dortech on site with professionalism and contribute to our 98%+ “excellent” client rating.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install commercial windows & doors to specification and quality standards

  • Assist with surveys and site assessments; take accurate measurements and notes

  • Investigate faults, identify root causes, and propose cost-effective remedial solutions

  • Work safely and compliantly, following RAMS and site protocols

  • Communicate clearly with customers, site teams, and the office

  • Maintain accurate records, photos, and job reports

About You (Skills & Experience)

  • 2+ years’ installation experience (windows/doors; commercial or residential)

  • Excellent attention to detail and a “right first time” mindset

  • Confident reading drawings and method statements; sound technical judgement

  • Calm under pressure, reliable, and on time

  • Strong customer skills; professional on occupied and live sites

  • Eager to learn and develop
