This SEN school redevelopment will provide a high-performance, purpose-built learning environment for children with autism and additional needs. The scheme has been carefully designed to create a calm, structured and supportive setting, with a strong emphasis on natural light, acoustics and spatial clarity to enhance both teaching and learning outcomes.

Dortech’s scope includes curtain walling, aluminium windows and specialist door systems, incorporating Technal façade solutions alongside SAS acoustically tested doors. These elements play a critical role in balancing transparency, security and acoustic performance throughout the building, particularly within teaching and circulation spaces where control of sound and light is essential.

The redevelopment forms part of a wider investment into specialist education provision in the region, delivering a modern, energy-efficient facility aligned with current sustainability targets. The building is designed to achieve high levels of thermal efficiency and is expected to operate with significantly reduced carbon impact, supporting long-term environmental performance as well as operational cost savings.

Triple glazing and solar control units will ensure excellent thermal performance and occupant comfort, reducing solar gain while maximising daylight. This creates a more stable internal environment, helping both students and staff benefit from consistent conditions throughout the year.

This marks Dortech’s first project with Tilbury Douglas West Midlands after three years of targeted effort, strengthening a relationship that now exceeds £5.7 million in installed glazing since 1996. It represents an important milestone in expanding our regional presence while continuing to deliver high-quality façade solutions across the UK.

“This project represents another important step in our long-standing relationship with Tilbury Douglas. Built on trust, quality, safety and teamwork, we are proud to continue delivering together.”
