Dortech is delighted to be supporting Crain Robinson, one its Site Managers with his Ordinary Heroes project that has been established to build and develop medical facilities in Uganda.
Craig has returned every year since his first visit in 2014 getting involved in a variety of projects aimed at enhancing the lives of young people and their families that so desperately need his help.
One of his most recent projects involved the construction of a medical facility in the Gulu District of Northern Uganda. Just this one, small facility provides so many critical services including, screening each young person for malnutrition, malaria, hepatitis B and HIV.
Since opening its doors, over 30 young people were found to be positive for malaria that was immediately treated and cured. One had HIV diagnosed for the first time and was started on life-saving antiviral drugs. Dangerous outbreaks of bloody diarrhoea, conjunctivitis, and skin infections have been stopped with a combination of good treatment, education and public health measures.
Following the success of this project, The Church of Uganda has proposed to open the facility up to the whole community and now further work is required by Craig and his team to enhance the center for an increase in the demand in the services that it provides.
Craig’s work is having such a positive effect on people’s lives and is saving lives in the process. We are so pleased to be supporting Craig with this venture and would encourage others to do the same.
