Dortech is delighted to announce that it has recently reattained Q-Mark accreditation through BM Trada, which is a recognised Secure by Design accreditation. Both the doors and windows Dortech sent for testing passed first time around and the company received a glowing report following a factory audit from testing house BM TRADA. The following certification tests were passed:
-Enhanced Security Door scheme to PAS24:2012 and BS 4873 Aluminium
-Enhanced Security Window scheme to PAS 24:2012 and BS 4873 Aluminium
Dortechs Operations Director, Dean Wood (pictured right) was delighted with the achievement and stated, “We are very proud of the quality of work that this company produces and particularly our attention to detail and process refinement. This focus runs right through the company, from the initial receipt of an enquiry, to production, to installation of our products on site and in my opinion sets us apart from our competitors.”
In cases where Secure by Design (SBD) accreditation is a clearly specified requirement on a project, it is no longer acceptable for fabricators to manufacture and install commercial glazing systems projects on the back of testing that their respective window systems supplier may have done. In order for a project to reach the Secure by Design standard, all parties (systems company and glazing fabricator/installer) must have a recognised Secure by Design accreditation, such as Q-Mark. This can be attained through controlled testing of aluminium windows and doors, in addition to assessments of a companys quality control and production processes.
