Dortech Architectural Systems Ltd is pleased to announce the successful completion of our architectural glazing work for Kirklees’ new Dementia Day Care Centre in Mirfield, a project led by main contractor Tilbury Douglas. Designed with dementia-friendly principles, the 300m² facility includes wellbeing zones, therapeutic areas, and dedicated outdoor spaces, tailored for those with sensory and mobility needs.

Appointed by Tilbury Douglas, Dortech designed, manufactured, and installed 300m² of architectural glazing, utilizing Technal’s high-performance glazing systems from Hydro Group. The installations include curtain walling, aluminum windows, and entrance doors, all of which align with the centre’s modern, flexible, and accessible design.

Paul Trueman, Managing Director of Dortech Architectural Systems Ltd, praised the project:

“Working with Tilbury Douglas on Kirklees’ Dementia Centre was a pleasure. This collaboration has allowed us to contribute to a facility that will significantly enhance quality of life for dementia patients in our community. We’re proud to have delivered this project on time and within budget, helping to create a positive, secure environment for all who will use it.”

This new centre, part of Kirklees Council’s £11 million investment in dementia care, aims to provide much-needed respite and resources for patients and families. As regulations around dementia care and accessibility advance, Dortech remains committed to delivering innovative glazing solutions that improve functionality and aesthetics across community projects.
