The Bolton College of Medical Sciences (BCMS), a groundbreaking project in partnership with the University of Bolton, Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Bolton College, and Bolton Council, is set to revolutionize the training and employment landscape in the healthcare sector across Greater Manchester. Positioned at the Royal Bolton Hospital, this state-of-the-art facility promises to be a beacon of advanced healthcare education, preparing thousands of students for a future in clinical care and offering Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for current NHS staff.
The Importance of the Project
This ambitious £40m facility is not only a substantial investment in the local economy but also a significant enhancement to the healthcare services provided in the area. Expected to train around 3,000 students annually, BCMS is designed to alleviate local NHS staffing pressures, improve care levels, and broaden access to healthcare professions. Dortech’s Expert Contribution
Appointed by Willmott Dixon, the main contractor, Dortech Architectural Systems Ltd has played a pivotal role in this transformative project. We were tasked with the design, manufacture, and installation of nearly 2,000m² of high-performance architectural glazing. Selecting Technal for their reputable aluminium glazing systems, we ensured that our installations would meet the highest standards of quality and durability needed for such a prestigious development.
